About

A small carving shed…

at the end of windswept Chesterman Beach became an idea intertwined into the very existence of the Wickaninnish Inn. Indeed, Henry Nolla’s artistry was present from before the very walls went up, and it is infused into the foundation of the Wickaninnish Inn. Today, Henry Nolla’s Carving Shed still stands on Chesterman Beach with carvers actively working within its walls and is a testament to the importance of art at the Inn.

The Inn’s buildings themselves are living, breathing galleries with art that is ever-changing and reflects the very nature of the place we call home. A trip through both buildings will take you past an artscape of sculptures, paintings, photography, wood carvings, and glasswork that seamlessly blend into their respective spaces - the majority of which are available for purchase.

With no physical “Gift Store” at the Inn, you are encouraged to explore both buildings to discover the current selection of retail items on display throughout the Pointe lobby, Beach lobby, and Ancient Cedars Spa. Whatever you are hoping to find, we offer a curated selection of West Coast keepsakes to take home with you, and answers to any questions you may have.
